SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Senior Derek Jenkins (Annandale, N.J.) stole five bases and junior Joe Poduslenko (Glen Mills, Pa.) hit a grand slam as the Seton Hall baseball team routed Monmouth, 13-3, on Tuesday.
Jenkins finished the day 3-for-5 with an RBI, two runs scored and five stolen bases, giving him a nation-leading 40 steals on the season. Poduslenko drove in five runs, which includes a grand slam in the sixth inning. Another offensive star on Wednesday was Rob Dadona (Staten Island, N.Y.), who went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs.
Seton Hall (26-12) jumped all over Monmouth starter James Kelly right from the start. Chris Chiaradio (Teaneck, N.J.) led off with a single and stole second base. Jenkins followed with a single, which scored Chiaradio with the first run of the game, only two batters in. Two batters later, Matt Fortin (Nashua, N.H.) drove in the Pirates' second run on an RBI groundout. With two outs, Dadona delivered a two-RBI single to give the Pirates a 4-0 advantage in the first inning, which was more than they needed for the game.
Inside the Numbers:
- Seton Hall stole a season-high 11 bases.
- Dadona and Jenkins led the Pirates with three hits apiece.
- Senior Luke Cahill (Tinton Falls, N.J.) made his season debut and earned the win with a scoreless first inning.

- With five steals today, Jenkins has 110 career steals, which ranks fourth all-time. Greg Jemison is third on the Seton Hall career list with 114.
- With an appearance today, junior Anthony Pacillo (Lyndhurst, N.J.) added to his BIG EAST lead. He has now pitched in 24 games this season.
- Weigel leads the BIG EAST in walks, he had two base-on-balls today, giving him 31 for the season.
- Jenkins now has 40 steals this season, which is a new season-high, surpassing his 38 stolen bases in 2014.
- Seton Hall improves to 37-6-1 all-time against the Hawks.
- The Pirates improve to 16-2 at Owen T. Carroll Field this season.
