Go Paces Pirates in First Round at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) shot an even-par, 71, in round one of the 2016 Princeton Invitational and has the Seton Hall men's golf team in eighth place with 18 holes remaining.
Go is tied for 10th place among 81 individual golfers and trails the individual leader, Duke's Jake Shuman, by six strokes. Duke has the top four golfers in the field after round one.
Collectively, Seton Hall fired a 12-over-par, 296, in round one. The Pirates trail the team leader, Duke, by 22 strokes. The Blue Demons are the only team under par at 10-under-par.
A trio of Pirate golfers are tied for 38th place overall. Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.), Kevin O'Brien (Wexford, Pa.) and Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) all shot a 4-over-par, 75.
Freshman Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) is 7-over-par with a 78.

The Course:
A year ago, the tournament was played at Aronimink Golf Club and Merion Golf Club outside Philadelphia due to weather conditions having affected Springdale, but the tournament will be back at Princeton's home course for the 30th annual event. It has been played every year since 1987 except 2003, when the scheduled event was rained out. Princeton has won three titles in its home invitational, including the first one in 1987 and again in 2000 and 2004.
The Field:
Along with fellow Ivies Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, Penn and Yale, Princeton will welcome a pair of teams ranked in the top 50 in the April 5 Golfweek rankings, No. 22 Duke and No. 34 Georgia Tech, plus regional foes from Georgetown, Rider, Rutgers, Saint Joseph's, Seton Hall and Temple.
