9/17/2016 10:40:00 PM | Men's Soccer
OMAHA, Neb. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team (2-4-1, 0-1-0 BIG EAST) dropped its BIG EAST conference opener by a score of 4-1 at No. 14 Creighton (4-1-1, 1-0-0) on Saturday night at Morrison Stadium. Andres Arcila (Cartagena, Colombia) scored his team-high fifth goal of the season in the first half for Seton Hall's lone tally.
Arcila got the Pirates on the board in the 10th minute, bending home a 30-yard direct free kick to make it 1-0. The Bluejays would equalize in the 26th minute before taking the lead with a 44th minute penalty kick. Creighton tacked on two more in the second half, including another penalty kick to put it away.
Turning Point
A 44th minute penalty kick for Creighton gave the Bluejays a one-goal lead at the break, one they would double in the 65th minute with another PK. Two minutes later the Pirates had their own chance at a penalty, but CU keeper Alex Kapp made saves on both the initial chance from Jordan Kinoshi (Welwyn Garden City, England) and a rebound attempt from Francisco Alderete (Salta, Argentina) to keep Creighton up by two.
