
Pirates Finish Fourth at Patriot Invitational

Fairfax, Va. – The Seton Hall women's swimming & diving team finished fourth out of nine competing teams at the Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason this weekend.
Senior Sydney Simpson (Tallahassee, Fla.) won the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.14 and finished second in the 100 and 200 breaststroke with times of 1:03.25 and a season-best 2:19.01.
Sophomore Jill Calocino (Maywood, N.J.), freshman Julie Stankiewicz (Metuchen, N.J.) and sophomore Sara Ouellette (Granby, Conn.) posted impressive times of 4:59.86, 5:02.01 and 5:02.55 in the 500 free.
Calocino also finished third out of 27 swimmers in the 1650 free after touching the wall in 16:59.17, while Ouellette swam a 2:01.15 in the 200 back to take fourth.
In the dives, freshman Taylor Jackson (Thornton, Colo.) finished third in the 1M and fourth in the 3M with respective scores of 254.70 and 231.90.
In the 200 IM, freshmen Amelia Wootton (Bethel, Conn.) and Marianne Molloy (Toms River, N.J.) placed fourth and sixth with respective times of 2:06.24 and 2:06.51.
Sophomore Jordan Decker (Mason, Ohio), senior Kylene Ronayne (Springfield, Pa.), Wootton and sophomore Clara Capone (West Hartford, Conn.) swam an impressive 1:36.39 in the 200 free relay and finished sixth out of 18.
Looking ahead, the Pirates head into their mid-season break, and will resume competition on Jan. 13 against Drexel and Towson in Philadelphia.
