The Hall To Host Pirate Invitational This Weekend

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall softball team (9-9-1) returns to action this weekend to host the Inaugural Pirate Invitational at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field. The Hall will host Brown, Hartford, Iona and Saint Peter's over the course of March 17-20 in the first regular season tournament hosted in South Orange in the program's history.

The Pirates most recently completed an 11-game spring break trip to California, finishing the trip with a 3-7-1 record after a series of tight setbacks. This weekend at home marks The Hall's first games in New Jersey this season with a week to go before BIG EAST conference play begins.

As a team, The Hall is batting .282 and scoring 5.8 runs per game on the year
In the circle, the Pirate hurlers have combined for a 4.00 ERA
Alexis Walkden (Cibolo, Texas) leads The Hall at the dish with a .383 average, five home runs, 10 doubles, 16 RBIs and 21 runs scored
Four other Pirates are hitting above .300, including Lauren Fischer (Robbinsville, N.J.) and Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) at .327
Pandolfo is second on the squad with seven doubles and has driven in 12, while Fischer has knocked in 13 runs and drawn 21 walks for a sterling .521 on-base percentage
Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) leads the Pirates with 17 RBIs on the year and has notched three home runs along with four doubles as a freshman
Fischer leads the way in the circle with a 2.65 ERA in eight appearances, including six starts and three complete games
Rookie Reganne Camp (Blooming, Ill.) has struck out 21 batters against 10 walks in 29.0 innings

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION

Brown (0-10)
- The top offensive threat for the Bears is Christina Andrews, who checks in with a .333 average and three doubles on the year
- In the circle Katie Orona has made five starts and pitched to a 3.04 ERA this season
Hartford (2-14)
- The Hawks are led by Lexi Wilkerson, who holds a .357/.400/.667 slash line with three home runs and 10 RBIs
- Kristen DeCiantis is hitting .316 on the year and Elizabeth Newkirk has driven in nine
Iona (6-8)
- The Gaels are led by Kristen Turner with a .444 average along with two home runs and 10 RBIs
- Tori Danner is Iona's top power threat with six home runs and 16 RBIs on the year
Saint Peter's (0-4)
- The Peacocks opened their season last weekend, dropping a pair of doubleheaders against Bucknell
