The Hall To Host Pirate Invitational This Weekend

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall softball team (9-9-1) returns to action this weekend to host the Inaugural Pirate Invitational at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field. The Hall will host Brown, Hartford, Iona and Saint Peter's over the course of March 17-20 in the first regular season tournament hosted in South Orange in the program's history.
Due to cold weather in the forecast, the tournament schedule has been slightly modified from its original version. Check out the new slate HERE.
The Pirates most recently completed an 11-game spring break trip to California, finishing the trip with a 3-7-1 record after a series of tight setbacks. This weekend at home marks The Hall's first games in New Jersey this season with a week to go before BIG EAST conference play begins.
PIRATE POINTS
Following the weekend tournament, The Hall will begin BIG EAST play against Villanova on March 25.

- Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) leads the Pirates with 17 RBIs on the year and has notched three home runs along with four doubles as a freshman
- Fischer leads the way in the circle with a 2.65 ERA in eight appearances, including six starts and three complete games
- Rookie Reganne Camp (Blooming, Ill.) has struck out 21 batters against 10 walks in 29.0 innings

- The top offensive threat for the Bears is Christina Andrews, who checks in with a .333 average and three doubles on the year
- In the circle Katie Orona has made five starts and pitched to a 3.04 ERA this season
- Hartford (2-14)
- The Hawks are led by Lexi Wilkerson, who holds a .357/.400/.667 slash line with three home runs and 10 RBIs
- Kristen DeCiantis is hitting .316 on the year and Elizabeth Newkirk has driven in nine
- Iona (6-8)
- The Gaels are led by Kristen Turner with a .444 average along with two home runs and 10 RBIs
- Tori Danner is Iona's top power threat with six home runs and 16 RBIs on the year
- Saint Peter's (0-4)
- The Peacocks opened their season last weekend, dropping a pair of doubleheaders against Bucknell
Following the weekend tournament, The Hall will begin BIG EAST play against Villanova on March 25.
