
Pirates Host Georgetown, '88 Reunion on Saturday

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team (5-4-2, 1-3-1 BIG EAST) begins the stretch run of the regular season when it plays host to Georgetown (7-3-3, 3-1-1 BIG EAST) on Saturday afternoon. Kick-off at Owen T. Carroll Field is set for 2 p.m. on the BIG EAST Digital Network and FOX Sports mobile app.
Saturday's match is part of University Weekend at The Hall and the Pirates will welcome back the 1988 BIG EAST Championship-winning side for a special pregame reception. The '88 Pirates will also be honored on the field in a special halftime ceremony.

The Pirates are back on the road on Wednesday, Oct. 24 for a league match at Butler.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Hall is coming off a 1-0 win on Tuesday night over NJIT in the non-conference finale
- Francisco Alderete (Salta, Argentina) scored a second-half goal in the win, while Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) made five saves in his third clean sheet of the season
- The Pirates out-shot the Highlanders 15-8 in the shutout victory
- Georgetown most recently tipped Villanova, 2-1, in a double overtime thriller
- Riley Strassner notched the game-winning goal for the Hoyas against VU
- The Pirates are 16-18-3 all-time against the Hoyas in a series dating back to 1963
- After a dominant stretch of seven wins in eight matches for GU from 2007-13, the Pirates have evened the series over the last four years
- Seton Hall notched a 1-0 victory over then-No. 3 Georgetown in 2014 and played to a scoreless draw with the Hoyas in South Orange in 2016
- Last season the Hoyas notched a 3-0 victory, the first match decided by more than one goal in the series since 2013
- The 1988 squad that will be honored on Saturday defeated GU, 1-0, en route to a BIG EAST title
- The Hall has been led offensively this season by dynamic freshman CJ Tibbling (Järna, Sweden) who paces the squad with four goals and 10 points
- Alderete has provided the Pirates with a spark off the bench in recent matches, scoring as a sub in two of the last three outings
- Right back Nico Andersen (Odense, Denmark) leads the Pirates with three assists this season and has been part of a stellar defensive unit along with center backs David Arvidsson (Gothenburg, Sweden), Love Fredriksson (Angelholm, Sweden) and Nick Najera (Laguna Hills, Calif.)
- Those defenders have been supported well by Nota, who is among the best in the BIG EAST with a 0.85 GAA and an .831 save percentage
- The Pirates are looking to improve on a 2-1-1 mark at home this season, where they have conceded only one goal
- Georgetown enters the match with a 7-3-3 record overall and a 3-1-1 mark in BIG EAST play, currently third in the conference standings
- Derek Dodson leads the Hoyas with six goals, while Kyle Zajec has posted a 3g-5a-11p scoring line and Achara has tallied four times
- Giannis Nikopolodis has started 11 matches in goal and holds a 0.76 GAA with an .812 save percentage
- Georgetown is currently receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll
