Saint Peter's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning, but their advantage was short-lived. In the bottom of the inning the Pirates took control. With one out, Villa singled through the left side, and advanced to second on a single by Ryan Lutz (Goshen, N.Y.). Hood followed with an RBI single to left field to tie the game at one. After a double steal, Sebastiano Santorelli (Tuckahoe, N.Y.) doubled to left-center field to score two more runs and give The Hall a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Pirate offense blew the game open. Sophomore Christian Del Castillo (Miami, Fla.) led off with a ground-rule double to right-center field. After Nick Dabrio (Jackson, N.J.) walked, Villa singled to center field to give The Hall a 4-0 lead. Lutz reached on a fielder's choice, which allowed the Pirates' fifth run to score. After Hood doubled down the left field line, senior Rob Dadona (Staten Island, N.Y.) drove in two more runs with a single up the middle to give the Pirates a commanding 7-0 advantage.
