Dana finished his strong afternoon going 2-for-3 with two walks, two stolen bases, three runs scored, a home run and an RBI. Junior Matt Toke (Three Bridges, N.J.) reached base three times, going 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base.
Seton Hall starter Noah Thompson (Frisco, Texas) earned the victory. He allowed three runs over five innings, while striking out eight batters and walking only one. Junior Corey Sawyer (Kearny, N.J.) picked up his second save of the season.
What Happened:
Seton Hall got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first. Junior Tyler Shedler-McAvoy (Allendale, N.J.) reached on an error, stole second base and advanced to third on a throwing error by Harvard's catcher. Christian Del Castillo (Miami, Fla.) followed with a sacrifice fly.
In the top of the second inning, Harvard clubbed their first of three home runs, a solo shot by Hunter Bigge off Thompson to tie the score.
The Pirates again jumped back in front in the bottom of the third inning. With the bases loaded and no outs, Seton Hall scored a pair of runs on back-to-back sacrifice flies by Connor Hood (Shrewsbury, Pa.) and Thomas Holdorf (Freehold, N.J.) to take a 3-1 lead.
In the fifth inning the teams traded long-balls. In the top half, Harvard's Chase Aldridge hit a two-run home run to tie the game at three. In the bottom half however, Dana smashed a solo shot to put the Pirates in front for good, 4-3.
The Hall added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh thanks to some questionable Harvard defense, and a seventh run in the bottom of the eighth with their fourth sacrifice fly of the game.
