UNIVERSITY PLACE, WASH. – Sophomore Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) registered back-to-back sub-par rounds to lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a 12^th place tie at the 2019 Redhawk Invitational after two rounds.

Tait has been consistently brilliant through two rounds, using six birdies to fuel a 4-under-par, 67, in round one, followed by a 1-under-par, 71, in round two. With 18 holes remaining, he is tied for 10^th -among 102 individual golfers with a 5-under-par, 67-70-137. UCLA's Hidetoshi Yoshihara is currently leading the individual field by six strokes at an amazing 13-under-par. Yoshihara had a 62 in yesterday's second round.

Collectively, the Pirates are tied for 12^th place with Northern Colorado and Idaho in the very talented field of 18 teams. The Hall fired a 3-over-par, 287, in round one, and improved seven strokes in round two. Through two rounds, Seton Hall is 1-under-par with a 287-280-567. The Hall is one of 14 teams currently under par for the tournament. UCLA is the team leader at a distant 31-under-par. However, placing as high as sixth place is achievable for the Pirates. A trio of teams are tied for sixth place at just 4-under-par.

Senior Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) shot a 3-over-par, 74, in round one, but improved six strokes in round two. He used five birdies and 11 pars in route to a 3-under-par, 68, in round two. For the tournament, he is tied for 45^th place with an even-par, 74-68-142.

After two rounds, both Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) and Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) are tied at 2-over-par. Acevedo used 14 pars in round one to shoot a 2-over-par, 73, and followed it up with five birdies and an even-par, 71, in round two. Ramachandran did the same, a 2-over-par, 73, in round one, followed by an even-par performance in the afternoon.

Only one stroke behind Acevedo and Ramachandran, senior Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) is 3-over-par with a 74-71-145. Yeom had a 3-over-par, 74, in round one, and was one of three Pirates to shoot even-par in round two.

The Course:

The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Seattle University, the large field features 17 other teams including: Arkansas-Little Rock, Cal Baptist, UC Irvine, Drexel, Gonzaga, Fresno State, Idaho, Indiana, Northern Colorado, Oregon State, Rutgers, Sacramento State, Texas Arlington, UCLA, Utah, Washington and Winthrop.

Tee Times:
Seton Hall will play two continuous rounds on Monday, and one, final round on Tuesday. The field will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. PT each day.
