Here are the notes you need to know for the series:
- This will be the first ever meeting between the Pirates and the Gaels.
- The Pirates are coming off of an extra innings loss at Fresno State and a three-game series against USC where the Hall won the first game, 6-3, but dropped the next two.
- Of their six losses, the Pirates have lost by two runs or less in four of them.
- After a strong series against USC, junior Casey Dana (Montgomery, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
- Dana went 6-for-10 (.600) with two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI. He registered multi-hit games in all three contests and he reached base eight times in 12 plate appearances.
- After being named BIG EAST Player of the Week following the first weekend, senior Connor Hood (Shrewsbury, Pa.) went 5-for-13 (.385) with three RBI at Liberty.
- After battling injuries his first two seasons in South Orange, junior Ryan McLinskey (Pearl River, N.Y.) has pitched well in his first year as a full-time starter.
- His first career start was against No. 20 Wake Forest (2/14) and he struck out six batters in four innings of work.
- McLinskey has followed his first start up with an eight strikeout performance at Liberty (2/21) and a six K outing at USC (2/28). He earned the win in both starts.
