
Pirates Sweep Second-Straight Day in Clearwater

Seton Hall 10 – Penn State 2 (5)
The Pirate bats came alive as Kelsey Gumm (Spokane, Wash.) pitched her third consecutive complete game.
How it Happened
- Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) both hit RBI doubles to plate the Pirates first three runs in the top of the first.
- The Hall would add three more runs in the second highlighted by a Baylee Allender (Rosharon, Texas) single to score two.
- In the third, Ashly Colonnetta (Cypress, Texas) tripled to score two runs followed by a Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.) double to score Colonnetta. Allender would add a sacrifice fly before the end of the inning to make it a four-run inning for The Hall.
- The Nittany Lions would take a single run in both the third and fifth innings.
- Arteaga's double in the first put her in a tie for third place on Seton Hall's all-time doubles list with 38 career two-baggers.
- Colonnetta's triple was the first of her career and part of a 3-for-3 game at the plate for the freshman.
- Gumm fired five scoreless for The Hall to go along with three strikeouts.
- The pirates outhit the Nittany Lions 11-6.
Seton Hall 11 – Florida A&M 6
The Pirates rounded out day two with a solid start from Mo Sobel (Newbury Parks, Calif.) and a well-balanced offensive attack.
How it Happened
- The Rattlers scored first in the top on inning number one with a run.
- The Pirates answered back immediately with three runs of their own in the home half o the inning punctuated by an Allender two run homer.
- A&M would get back a single run in the third.
- The Hall would one-up the Rattlers by scoring two in its half of the third on a Payton Beaver (Lake Stevens, Wash.) home run to center.
- The Pirates would get two runs in the fourth, one run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to build their lead.
- With her double in the fourth, Janae Barracato totaled her 39th career double all-time good enough to put her alone in third place amongst Seton Hall history.
- Allender's homer was her team-leading seventh of the season.
- Beaver's long ball was her second of the season.
- Colonnetta was six-for-seven between the two games this afternoon.
The Pirates will wrap up action at the Clearwater Spring Break Invitational with a matchup against Bowling Green set for 9 a.m. tomorrow.
