
Pirates Host Scarlet Knights for 2020 Home Opener

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall Softball team open things up at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field when they take on in-state rival Rutgers on Tuesday, March 10. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.

The Pirates competed in the Clearwater Spring Break Invite over the past weekend where the team finished a strong 4-1. The Hall picked up wins over UT Chattanooga, Army, Penn State and Florida A&M outscoring their opponents 38-16 over the three-day stretch,

The Pirates will be off for eight days before resuming non-conference action against Fairfield at home on Wednesday, March 18.

- The Scarlet Knights are coming off an 1-3 weekend in the Thundering Herd Round Robin, picking up their lone with over Bucknell.
- Rutgers is led at the plate by Gabrielle Callaway who currently sits at a .344 batting average and has two homers, seven RBIs and a team leading 10 free passes to her credit.
- The current BIG TEN and former BIG EAST foe currently leads the all-time series 43-19 with the Pirates last victory over the Scarlet Knights coming April 26, 2009.
