
Pirates Face NJIT in Season Opener Wednesday

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team will officially open up its 2020 season when they travel to Newark, N.J. for a non-conference matchup with NJIT on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Pirates are coming off a solid second season under Head Coach Andreas Lindberg in which they just missed out on BIG EAST postseason play on the final day of the conference season. Among the top returners for the Pirates are junior CJ Tibbling (Jarna, Sweden) and sophomore Camil Koreichi (Paris, France) who combined to net four goals and tally eight points for The Hall last season. On the defensive side of the ball, the Pirates return sophomore Eden O'Leary (Tel Aviv, Israel) who logged over 1200 minutes on the pitch while scoring twice in his first season in South Orange. In net for the Pirates is senior Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy). The Italy-native started all 16 games last season while picking up 74 saves and a shutout along the way.

- The Highlanders are coming the program's first ever ASUN Regular Season and Tournament Titles in addition to its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
- The 2020-21 season will be the first for NJIT as a member of the America East Conference.
- These two programs met just last season, a road victory for the Pirates, 4-1. The Hall also holds a 3-1 advantage over the Highlanders in the all-time season series.
