Columbia, S.C. – The Seton Hall softball team finished up its weekend at the Gamecock Invitational on Sunday against #16 Duke, a 6-1 setback.

How it Happened
The Pirates will head home to host a pair of doubleheaders next weekend at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field. First, the Pirates will take on Fordham on Saturday before doing it all again on Sunday with Lehigh.

How it Happened
- The Blue Devils got on the board early with five runs in the first two innings.
- The Pirates responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the third when Shelby Smith (Friendswood, Texas) singled home her first run of the season.
- Duke would tack on another run in the fifth, for the 6-1 final.
- Cadyn Ehrenberg (Fremont, Wisc.) was fantastic in relief, firing 6.1 innings with one earned run against the formidable Duke offense.
- The RBI for Smith was the first in her brief tenure as a Pirate.
- Baylee Allender (Rosharon, Texas) picked up two hits on the day including a double in the first, the 15th of her career.
