Carr Homers, Pirates Plate 12 in Win Over Fordham

How it Happened
- The Rams got on the board first with two quick runs in the first to go up, 2-0.
- The Hall would respond with a run of its own on a Carr single to cut the lead in half, 2-1.
- Fordham would tack on to its lead with a two-run home run in the top of the third, 4-1.
- The Pirates responded with four runs in their half of the third. Carr continued to help herself in the circle with a three-run homerun to tie things up at four.
- In the same inning, Ally Taylor (Mission Viejo, Calif.) would drive home the go-ahead run with a pinch-hit double to make things, 5-4.
- The Hall would match its third inning output with four more runs in the fourth. The big blow in the inning was an Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.) two-run double.
- Seton Hall would add two more runs in the fifth on an error before trading runs with Fordham in the sixth to lead, 12-5.
- Fordham would add a run in the seventh but that was all for a 12-6 Pirate victory.
- Carr's win in the circle and home run at the plate were both firsts in her Seton Hall career.
- Seven different Pirates picked up hits with Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.), Jaden Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.), Carr and Wingo earning multi-hit bids.
- Taylor's double was the first extra base hit of her career.
- Kiana Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) picked up an RBI single in the fourth, her first run driven in this season.
- Carr is the first Seton Hall pitcher since Lauren Fischer to hit a home run and earn the win in the circle did so against Hampton (2/18/17)
The Pirates will be back at it on Sunday with a doubleheader scheduled against Lehigh at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field. First pitch is set for noon.
