
Pirates Erupt for 20 Runs, Sweep Lehigh

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall softball team swept its doubleheader with Lehigh on Sunday by scores of 10-9 and 10-0 (5), respectively. In total the Pirate offense accounted 18 hits and 20 runs over 11 combined innings at bat.

How it Happened
- The Mountain Hawks got on the board first with three quick runs in the first and two more in the third to go up, 5-0.
- The Hall would respond with a run of its own on an Ally Taylor (Mission Viejo, Calif.) double in the third to make it, 5-1.
- Kiana Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) singled in a run in the third before Taylor delivered again, this time with a three-run home run to make it a tie ball game, 5-5.
- Lehigh would get a run back in the fifth but the Pirates added to two more to take the lead, 7-6.
- Again, Lehigh would get a run back and the Pirates would get two on a Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) single to give The Hall a 9-7 lead.
- The Mountain Hawks would grab two runs in the seventh to tie things up, 9-9.
- After Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.) was able to reach, Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) walked things off for the Pirates with a single to score Wingo and win the game, 10-9.
- Sydney Babik (Gilbert, Ariz.) picked up the win for The Hall, the first of her career.
- All nine Pirate starters picked up a hit in the victory while Taylor (4), Pandolfo (2) and Arteaga (2) all had multiple RBI performances.
- Taylor's home run was the first of her career.

- The Pirates got out to a hot start with a Pandolfo home run in the first, a two-run shot to put Seton Hall up 2-0.
- Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.) would single home two more runs in the second to double the Pirates lead.
- Wingo and Jordan Tressler (Rocklin, Calif.) would each single home a run in the third and fourth.
- Pandolfo would add another RBI on a sac fly before Kelsey Carr (Ridgewood, N.Y.) would put a stamp on the Pirate victory with a three-run home run to go up 10-0.
- Carr picked up the win and a home run for the second day in a row.
- The Pirates out hit the Mountain Hawks 8-2
- Pandolfo and Carr each picked up three RBIs in the victory.
