South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall softball team fell to Stony Brook on Wednesday, 2-0 at home. With the setback the Pirates now fall to 6-5 at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field.

The Pirates will have a rematch with the Seawolves as they travel to Stony Brook, N.Y. for a doubleheader on Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.

- The Seawolves got on the board first with an unearned run on the top-half of the fourth.
- Stony Brook would double their lead with another run in the fifth, this time on a single up the middle.
- Shelby Smith (Friendswood, Texas) started the game for the Pirates going four innings without giving up an earned run.
- Kelsey Carr (Ridgewood, N.Y.) came on in relief of Smith with three innings of one-run ball.
- Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.) picked up her sixth double of the season. The two-bagger is the 47th in her career, one shy of tying Katie Pierce's all-time program record.
