Hempstead, N.Y. – The Seton Hall softball team fell to Hofstra on the road on Wednesday, 3-1. Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) doubled twice for the Pirates knocking in a run for The Hall.

How it Happened

After a scoreless first for both sides, Hofstra got on the board first with an unearned run in the home-half of the second.
The Pride would tack on another run in the third on a sacrifice fly to center field.
Again, Hofstra would score a single run, this time in the fourth on a double to left field.
The Pirates would look to rally in the sixth after Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.) singled for The Hall. Pandolfo would proceed to line a double down the left field line to get the Pirates on the board. The double was Pandolfo's second of the game after she picked up a two-bagger back in the first.

Notes and Numbers

The two doubles for Pandolfo were her team-leading seventh and eight of the season. The graduate student now has 38 doubles for her career which puts her in a tie for fourth place all-time in program history.
Barracato and Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) also picked up hits for the Pirates.
The Pirates are now second in the BIG EAST with 43 doubles through 23 games, one shy of Villanova's 44 through 36 games.

What's Next
The Pirates will return home for their final home series of the season as they take on Villanova. The teams will play two games on Saturday before wrapping up with a single game on Sunday. Both days are set to begin with a noon first pitch. The Pirates will honor their seniors before the game on Sunday.
