
Pirates Host Villanova for Final Home Series

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall softball team will welcome Villanova in for a three-game set with two games on Saturday and one on Sunday. Both days are scheduled to start with a noon first pitch. The series will be the Pirates final home stand of the season before hitting the road for two more BIG EAST series with UConn and Providence next week.
LAST TIME OUT
The Pirates dropped a midweek matchup with Hofstra on Wednesday, 3-1 on the road. Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) led the way offensively for The Hall with two doubles and an RBI at the plate. The two doubles for Pandolfo were her team-leading seventh and eight of the season. The graduate student now has 38 doubles for her career which puts her in a tie for fourth place all-time in program history.

The Pirates will honor six of their seniors following the game on Sunday. Baylee Allender (Rosharon, Texas), Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.), Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.), Payton Beaver (Lake Stevens, Wash.), Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Jaden Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) will all be honored for The Hall.

Villanova (27-11, 10-1)
- The Wildcats are coming off a three-game sweep of Providence last weekend and have won six of their last seven.
- Villanova is led at the plate and in the circle by Paige Rauch who sports a 4.27 average with seven home runs and 32 RBIs to go along with a 1.82 ERA and 140 strikeouts through 115.1 innings pitched.
- The Wildcats lead the all-time series, 44-38. The Pirates were able to take two-of-three the last time these teams played in 2019, also at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field.
- The Pirates are second in the BIG EAST with 43 doubles through 23 games, one shy of Villanova's 44 through 36 games.
