Hack and D'Amico hit first career jacks in the loss

Port Charlotte, Fla. - The Seton Hall baseball team socked a season-high three home runs but it wasn't enough as Florida Atlantic topped the Pirates, 19-6, on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior David Haberman (Morristown, N.J.), junior Devin Hack (Somerville, N.J.) and freshman Pat D'Amico (Lynnfield, Mass.) each hit their first long balls of the season and it was the first career hacks for Hack and D'Amico. D'Amico finished with four RBI on the day.

How It Happened
With the Pirates trailing 6-0 early, Hack and senior Alex Clyde (Old Tappan, N.J.) reached on back-to-back singles with one out in the bottom of the third. D'Amico then stepped to the plate and ripped a 2-0 pitch to left field that cut the Seton hall deficit in half, 6-3.

The Owls tacked on two runs in the fourth and fifth innings but the Pirates wouldn't go away. In the home half of the frame, Hack took the first pitch of the at-bat that he saw over the wall in right that gave The Hall its fourth run of the game. Later in the inning, Clyde reached first base on a walk and advanced two bases on a wild pitch. The Pirates took advantage of the miscue as D'Amico hit a fly ball to right field that plated Clyde from third.

Despite a ninth inning blast by Haberman, his first since his freshman campaign in 2019, the Owls offensive output proved to be too much as they came away with the victory.
