The catcher goes 4-for-4 with two home runs and helps the Pirates win the series over Georgetown.
The victory gives the Pirates the all-important series victory over the Hoyas.
Pokrovsky was brilliant, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double, a single, three runs scored and three RBI. The Pirates' catcher either drove in or scored all four of The Hall's runs.
On the mound, the Pirates were just as dominant. Starter Christopher Shine (South Plainfield, N.J.) earned the win and tossed five scoreless innings, scattering only two hits, while striking out seven and walking one. Alex Nicolosi (Stony Point, N.Y.), Michael Gillen (Rochelle Park, N.J.) and Jay Allmer (Cary, N.C.) kept the Hoyas off the scoreboard over the final four innings. Allmer got the final out of the game to earn his third save.

THE GAME:
Pokrovsky got the Pirates' party started with a solo shot to left-center field with one out in the bottom of the third.
In the fifth, Jonathan Luders (Lynnfield, Mass.) singled with one out. Pokrovsky then doubled off the wall in nearly the same spot he hit the home run earlier. Luders scored from first and the Pirates led, 2-0. Devin Hack (Somerville, N.J.) followed with a double down the right field line and scored Pokrovsky to give The Hall a 3-0 advantage.
Pokrovsky capped off his remarkable performance with a booming, no-doubter of a home run onto the third floor of the parking deck in left field in the bottom of the seventh.
How about a little strike'em out, throw'em out double play to end the sixth inning!!
