How it Happened
St. John's came out of the gates strong, with London Jarrard hitting a leadoff home run to give the home side an early 1-0 lead. However, the Pirates would respond with a long ball of their own two innings later, as Kelsey Carr (Ridgewood, N.Y.) lifted a two run homer to left field.

Runs in the third and fourth innings put St. John's back ahead, 3-2, a lead it would hold entering the sixth inning. That was when the Pirates turned the tide. After a double and single placed runners on the corners, Allen dropped a single into center to score Miranda Arruda (Pawcatuck, Conn.) from third with the tying run. Two batters later, Andrea Perez (Corona, Calif.) hit a sacrifice fly to put Seton Hall ahead.

Four more would cross the plate in the seventh inning to pad the Pirate lead. With two outs and the bases loaded, Allen drove a liner towards right center. St. John's center fielder Sydney Totarsky dove to try and make the catch, but was unable to as the double cleared the bases and gave Seton Hall a 7-3 edge. Perez would follow next with an RBI single to add an extra insurance run.
