How It Happened – Game One vs. Indiana State
- Senior Kyra Kreuscher faced tough opposition from Indiana State's experienced top of the order. The Sycamores struck first, singling in a run to put the Pirates in an early 1-0 hole. Kreuscher settled in quickly after, though, allowing only one base runner through the remaining 2.1 innings.
- While the Pirates' pitching got into a rhythm, the Pirates' offense opened the season stuck in neutral. Through the opening three innings, The Hall tallied four strikeouts, one hit, and no walks, despite making contact across many of the team's at-bats.
- In the top of the fourth, Sami Wakeley entered the game for her collegiate debut. She induced poor contact from three different hitters, while also allowing a single, to keep the deficit at one.
- In the bottom half of the inning, junior Katey Brennan laced an inning-opening double to give Seton Hall an early chance to tie the game. Three batters later, the Pirates had the bases loaded with only one out. With the opportunity to take the lead in clear view, the Pirates took advantage. Lea Kosinski was hit by a pitch to make it a 1-1 game, before Sophia DeMarco hit a sacrifice fly to give The Hall a 2-1 lead after four innings.
- Wakeley, and later Rachael Schumann, each faced a bases-loaded situation in the circle during the final innings. In the sixth inning, Schumann was tagged for one run on a two-out infield single, allowing the Sycamores to tie the game at 2-2.
- After surviving a bases-loaded jam in the top of the seventh, DeMarco opened the seventh inning at the plate for the Pirates. Four pitches later, she launched a walk-off home run to deep center field to give the Pirates a 3-2 victory over Indiana State to open the 2026 season.
- Building off her pair of hits in game one, Caroline Hobbes drove in a run in the top of the first to give The Hall a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
- After closing out the first game to secure the win, Schumann returned to the circle for the Pirates. In the opening three innings, part of which were pitched by Karissa Dupuis, the Pirates found themselves down 12-1 by the end of the third inning.
- DeMarco collected her second home run of the season in the fourth inning, to make it a 12-2 game. The Pirates could not pull it back any further, however, falling 12-2 in five innings.
- The Pirates move to 1-1 on the season.
- The Hall is now 1-0 all-time against Indiana State.
- They are also 1-2 all-time against Stetson.
- DeMarco recorded the first two home runs of her career.
- Hobbes recorded her first RBI of the season.
- Brennan recorded a hit in both games.
