How It Happened
- While the Pirates were held hitless through the opening two frames, Creighton put The Hall down 8-0 after allowing four extra-base hits, including a home run.
- That deficit continued to grow for The Hall to the point where, in the middle of the fourth, Seton Hall faced a 15-0 deficit.
- In the bottom of the fourth, The Hall began to pull the deficit back. After getting two runners on with two outs, freshman Loreale Blake continued her hot streak this weekend with a two-RBI double to get the Pirates on the board.
- Angelina Benitez drove in Blake before the innings end, making it a 15-3 game with one inning to play.
- Despite a quick 1-2-3 inning in the field, The Hall could not add any more runs at the plate and fell 15-3 in five innings.
- With the loss, the Pirates move to 6-9 on the season and 0-2 in BIG EAST play.
- With one hit today, Benitez extended her hitting streak to eight games.
- With a two-RBI double, Blake raised her season tally for RBI to five.
What's Next
The Pirates will close out play against Creighton on Sunday, March 8. First pitch for the opening game is slated for 12 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on YouTube.
