SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall baseball team stole a season-high 12 bases and matched its season-high with 14 hits in a 13-8 victory over Villanova on Saturday.
Neither starting pitcher made it out of the second inning as the teams combined for 12 runs in the first two frames alone.
Trailing 1-0, the Pirates (28-12, 3-2) got their offense started right away in the bottom of the first. The Hall stole four bases in the opening inning and an RBI single by Zack Weigel (Oak Park, Ill.) tied the game at one. Two batters later, Joe Poduslenko (Glen Mills, Pa.) reached on an error by the Wildcat third baseman, which allowed Weigel to score the go-ahead run.
