HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Seton Hall softball team split two contests on day one of the Bearkat Classic hosted by Sam Houston State. In their opener, the Pirates were blanked by Northern Colorado but responded emphatically with a 10 unanswered runs to rally in a wild victory over the host Berkats in game two.

Game 1 Notes – Northern Colorado 5, Seton Hall 0

The Bears got on the board with a run in the fourth, then added one in the sixth before putting up three in the top of the seventh
Northern Colorado finished with a 7-0 edge in hits, while neither side recorded an error
Alexis Walkden (Cibolo, Texas) drew a pair of walks for The Hall, and Jaden Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) also drew one
Reganne Camp (Bloomington, Ill.) got the start in the circle for the Pirates and struck out six in 6.1 innings of work
In 20.1 innings this season Camp has totaled 22 strikeouts

Game 2 Notes – Seton Hall 10, Sam Houston State 6

The Bearkats got out to an early lead with three runs in the first, adding one in the second and two more in the third to go up 6-0
The Hall pushed two runs across to cut into the lead in the bottom of the fourth, getting a home run from Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.) and an RBI single from Payton Beaver (Lake Stevens, Wash.)
After grabbing another run with a sac fly in the bottom of the fifth, The Hall took their first lead in a huge seven-run bottom of the sixth
Ragen Reddick (Middlesex, N.J.) notched the big hit in the frame, a two-run go-ahead double
For the game, The Hall recorded a 16-9 edge in hits
Foster and Barracato both had three hit efforts, while four other Pirates had two hits
Madison Strunk (Adkins, Texas) got the win in the circle after 4.0 shutout innings in relief

The Pirates return to action at the Bearkat Classic tomorrow, with a 1:15 p.m. contest against Wichita State before a match-up with No. 4 Washington to follow.
