Toke went 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored to lead the Pirates offense. Sophomore Casey Dana (Montgomery, N.Y.) was the lone other Pirate with multiple hits. He went 2-for-5 with a run scored. Senior Sebastiano Santorelli (Tuckahoe, N.Y.) drove in a team-high two runs.
Seton Hall starter David Festa (Verona, N.J.) was brilliant through three innings, but allowed four runs in the fourth, and went on to allow six runs in five innings for the game.
What Happened:
Seton Hall got on the scoreboard first with a solo run in the top of the second inning on an RBI single by Santorelli. The lead expanded to 2-0 in the top of the fourth inning with another RBI by Santorelli. This time his sacrifice fly scored Toke to give The Hall a two-run cushion.
After three sparkling innings by Festa, TCU broke through with four runs, fueled by a three-run home run, in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead.
The back-and-forth affair continued in the top of the fifth inning. With one out, Jerry Huntzinger (Staten Island, N.Y.) singled up the middle and moved to second on a single through the left side by Dana. Del Castillo delivered a third straight single to score Huntzinger and cut the Horned Frogs' lead to 4-3. Toke followed with an RBI single to left field to tie the game at four. After a pitching change, Grober produced The Hall's fifth single of the inning to drive in the go-ahead run.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Horned Frogs took the lead back with a pair of runs off of Festa. Cole Patten (Manasquan, N.J.) came in to limit the damage, but TCU grabbed a 6-5 lead.
In the top of the eighth inning, Thomas Holdorf (Freehold, N.J.) singled through the right side with one out. Pinch runner Nick Dabrio (Jackson, N.J.) advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Connor Hood (Shrewsbury, Pa.), third on a groundout, and scored on a throwing error by the TCU first baseman to tie the game at six. The Horned Frogs however, answered last, scoring two runs off Patten in the bottom of the eighth to take an 8-6 advantage.
