South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall softball team splits its double header with St. John's at home on Saturday. The Pirates fell 6-4 in the first game before taking game two, 6-1.

Overall The Hall moves to 5-9 on the season and 2-3 in BIG EAST play.

Game One: St. John's 6 – Seton Hall 4
How it Happened

The Red Storm exploded in the first scoring all six of their runs in the inning and five of them before the Pirates could record an out.
The Hall would begin to chip back in the second when Kelsey Carr (Ridgewood, N.Y.) brought home a run on a fielder's choice.
In the third, Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) would drive in two more with a double to left center, her team-leading sixth two bagger of the season.
The Pirates would manage to scratch another run across in the fourth on a Jaden Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) sac fly but that would be it as they fell, 6-4.

Notes and Numbers

Carr was tremendous in relief throwing seven scoreless innings while only giving up one hit and striking out nine.
The Pirates outhit the Red Storm 4-3.
The Hall only allowed two St. John's runners to reach after the first inning.

Game Two: Seton Hall 6 – St. John's 1
How it Happened

The Pirates got on the board first when Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.) singled home two runs to put the Pirates up, 2-0.
The Hall wasn't done scoring in the home-half of the first yet, Kiana Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) doubled in two more Pirates to grow lead to 4-0.
St. John's would get one back on the fourth to make it a 4-1 ballgame.
With the bases-loaded in the fifth, Lela Allen (Phoenix, Ariz.) walked to make it a four-run game again.
Kiana Tate would deliver again, putting the finishing touches on the game in the sixth with an RBI single to left.

Notes and Numbers

Carr earned the win in the circle after a complete game while only giving up one run. Carr threw 14 innings on the day while only giving up one run on seven hits and 15 punchouts.
Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.) delivered at the plate in game two, going 4-for-4 with two doubles and two runs batted in. Wingo also picked up a double in game one for three on the day.
The RBI for Allen was the first of her young career.
Carr scored three runs for the Hall while going 2-for-3 at the dish.
The win ended a six-game winning streak for the Red Storm against the Pirates and was the second win in 19 games with St. John's.

What's Next
The Pirates will stay home to play a pair of double headers with Holy Cross, one on Friday and one on Sunday.
