
Kahanek, Fricker Lead Pirates at Hall Williams Day One

MOBILE, ALA. – Senior Patrick Kahanek (San Antonio, Texas) is 4-under-par after 36 holes to highlight the Seton Hall men's golf team on day one of the Hall Williams Collegiate at Magnolia Grove on Monday.

Kahanek was brilliant on Monday, using four birdies and 12 pars in both of his rounds to shoot a pair of 2-under-par, 69's. With 18 holes left to play, he's tied for 10th place among 75 individual golfers with a 4-under-par, 69-69-138.Â

SMU's Zachary Kingsland leads the individual field at a remarkable 12-under-par entering Tuesday's final round.

As a team, The Hall shot a 5-over-par, 289, in round one. In the afternoon, it shaved off six strokes to settle with a 1-under-par, 283. For the tournament, Seton Hall is tied for 12th place with a 4-over-par, 289-283-572.

SMU currently leads the highly-talented field at 20-under-par.

George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) had two birdies and 15 pars in his opening round in route to a 1-under-par, 70. In the afternoon, he was only one stroke worse, using three birdies to fuel an even-par, 71. For the tournament, the senior is tied for 24th place at 1-under-par with a 70-71-141.

Junior David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) shot a 5-over-par, 76, in round one, but shot up the leaderboard in round two. In the afternoon, Lally had four birdies and 12 pars to pace a 2-under-par, 69. Entering Tuesday's final round, he's tied for 53rd place with a 3-over-par, 76-69-145.

Freshman Luke Nolan (Austin, Texas) was consistent throughout his Monday, shooting a pair of 3-over-par, 74's. For the tournament, he's 6-over-par with a 74-74-148

Rounding out the Pirates' lineup, freshman Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) shot a 13-over-par, 81-74-155.

Competing as an individual, Joshua Lee (Lantana, Texas) had five birdies on Monday in route to a 5-over-par, 73-74-147.

Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.
