SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall women's golf program will compete in the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown, at The Members Club at Four Streams on Monday and Tuesday. The Pirates are slated to play 36 holes on day one, followed by 18 on day two.
The Hall will be competing against Rutgers, Radford, Yale, Richmond, Penn, Harvard, St. Johns, Lehigh, Boston College, Princeton, Columbia, Hartford, Sacred Heart, Georgetown and Towson.
Five freshmen are scheduled to play for the Pirates: Hannah Basalone (Brea, Calif.), Christina Cantú (Houston, Texas), Samantha Massei (Allen, Texas), Haley Van Es (Granger, Ind.) and Stacie Ballou (Staten Island, N.Y.).
"We made great strides last week as we achieved both personal and team bests in Cincinnati's Spring Invitational," said head coach Sara Doell. "We plan to take the momentum and energy from that performance into the Hoya Invitational."
"Coach Murphy and I believe the areas that we need the most improvement on as a team are target awareness and pitching," Doell added. "We planned our practice sessions around those concepts this past week and had some very effective training time."
