Over the next few weeks, SHUpirates.com will conduct a question and answer session with each of Seton Hall's senior women's golfers. Today, we catch up with Samantha Massei (Allen, Texas).
1. What are you most proud of in your athletic career here at Seton Hall?
I'm most proud of the way that Hannah, Haley, Stacie and I have helped develop the women's golf program here. We have established a strong athletic and academic foundation for the team, and I am excited to watch it in years to come.
2. Tell us about some of your best memories over the past three and a half years as a student-athlete.
All of my favorite memories from Seton Hall include all the friends I've made. Our athletic department does a really great job of creating a sense of community among all the athletes.
3. Looking back, what was your favorite class that you have taken?
My favorite class was Public Relations 2 with Dr. Rennie. It was one of the most difficult, and there was a lot of course work, but it really taught me a lot about the field that I want to go into.
4. What are you most looking forward to in the Spring season?
I cannot wait for our spring break training trip to California, and our first home tournament. Both are going to be great experiences for our team, and for the program itself. Hosting our program's first tournament really makes it feel like we've created something.
5. If you could step back to the fall of 2010, what advice would you give to your freshman self?
I wouldn't change a thing about my experience at Seton Hall as an athlete. I would just encourage and remind my freshman self that I made the right decision, and not to sweat the small stuff.
6. What are your plans after you graduate?
I am hoping to find a job in New York City, or the northern New Jersey area and then to continue pursing my education.
