Freshman Macky Fouse played in three of the fall's five golf tournaments and put up a scoring average of 83.50. She placed a season-best 27th place at the Bucknell Invitational. She was a personal-best 30-over-par at the St. John's Invitational. Her low round of the season was a 77 in the third round of the Bucknell Invitational.
Coach Doell's thoughts on Macky:
"When I recruited Macky, I saw something in her that is an intangible. She was a competitive player who was beginning to see more success in her game when I found her. I knew that with a little more experience and some solid instruction, Macky would be able to compete in college. While Macky's scores this fall are not indicative of her potential, I know that we will see them drop as she continues to work on her fundamentals. Coach D has helped her set-up by getting her into an athletic posture. She has also improved her swing path which has helped her ball flight become much higher and more consistent.
Macky is the player that every coach wishes that they had- she has a thirst for instruction and knowledge. She works hard and she has a wonderful attitude and perspective. She is a great teammate. I feel so fortunate that Macky is a part of this team and I am excited to see her scores drop with the hard work that she is putting in."
