RIO VERDE, ARIZ. - Senior Erin McClure (Tucson, Ariz.) shot a 1-over-par, 73, to keep Seton Hall women's golf in the team lead with just 18 holes to play at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational at the Rio Verde Golf Club on Saturday.

After 36 holes, McClure remains the individual leader with an even-par, 71-73-144. She is one stroke ahead of Toledo's Sathika Ruenreong entering Sunday's final round.

Collectively, Seton Hall had another very strong round, shooting a 10-over-par, 298, in round two. The Pirates' 298 was the third-best second round score and kept them two strokes ahead of Toledo for the team lead. Through two rounds, the Pirates are 18-over-par with a 296-298-594. The Hall's lone BIG EAST competition, Xavier, is currently in 14th place, 28 strokes off the lead.

"I'm really pleased to see this kind of consistency," said head coach Sara Doell. "Erin and Ali continue to play at a high level and are showing what it means to be a senior leader. If this type of play carries over to round three, we'll be very difficult to dethrone at the top of the leaderboard."

Senior Ali Kruse (Overland Park, Kan.) had another strong round. The program's all-time leader in top-five finishes is poised to add to her total as she's currently in third place with a 2-over-par, 72-74-146.

Megan Tenhundfeld (Loveland, Ohio) shaved four strokes off her first round score to shoot a 3-over-par, 75, in round two. For the tournament, she is tied for 38th place with a 10-over-par with a 79-75-154.

McKenzie Cutter (Waldorf, Md.) also improved in round two, shooting three strokes better. She is currently tied for 49th with a 79-76-155, just one stroke behind Tenhunfeld. Freshman Cassie Pantales (Canton, Ohio) fired a 5-over-par, 77, in round three, and is currently tied for 23rd place with an impressive 7-over-par, 74-77-151.Because this is Seton Hall's Spring Break, the Pirates were able to bring their entire roster to Arizona. Junior Karlie Zabrosky (Erie, Pa.) and freshman Macky Fouse (Aliquippa, Pa.) are also competing this weekend. They're playing in a 36-hole event at Quail Run. Zabrosky shot an impressive 74, while Fouse checked in with a 78.

Originally known as the East/West Invitational, Western Michigan will play host to seventeen other teams for the thirteenth straight season in the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitation (March 12- 15). For only the fourth time in the tournament's 13 years of existence will it be played on the White Wing par-72 course which was re-designed by Tom Layman in 2008-2009. The event moved from a 36-hole to a 54-hole format in 2005.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Western Michigan, the field includes ULAR, Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Bowling Green, Wichita State, Ball State, Northern Arizona, Xavier, Missouri State, Bradley, Ohio, Akron, Texas A & M - CC.
