Pantelas, Win Named to All-BIG EAST Second Team

CALLAWASSIE ISLAND, S.C. – Junior Cassie Pantelas (Canton, Ohio) and freshman Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio) were named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team as announced by the conference on Thursday.
For the second straight year, Pantelas was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team. The Pirate captain led the Pirates for the 2016-17 year with a stroke average of 77.00. A BIG EAST Academic All-Star, she also notched four top-10 finishes and two top-5 finishes this year. Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Sept. 14, Pantelas notched her third career sub-par round, a 1-under-par, 71, in the second round of the Jackrabbit Invitational. She finished second at the William & Mary Invitational and tied for fourth at the Delaware Lady Blue Hen Invitational.
Win has been a major part of the Pirates' success as soon as she arrived in South Orange. Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Sept. 21, she ranks second on the team with a 77.75 stroke average for the year. Win's fall and spring stroke averages also rank second-best for the Pirates. She has tallied three top-10 finishes this year, and two top-5 efforts, which include a third place showing at the William & Mary Invitational and a fourth place finish at the Rutgers Invitational.
Pantelas, Win and the rest of the Pirates will attempt to defend their three-time BIG EAST Championship this weekend in Callawassie Island, S.C.
