PREVIEW:
Seton Hall will travel to Stillwater, Okla. this weekend for three games. The Pirates will face host Oklahoma State on both Friday and Sunday, sandwiched around a neutral site game against Missouri State. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
Â
The Pirates are coming off a rough showing at Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton last weekend. The Owls swept a three-game series from the Pirates, allowing The Hall just five runs total. On Friday, Florida Atlantic scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning, and despite chipping away at their lead, the Pirates fell, 4-2. On Saturday, The Hall dropped a rain-shortened game, 11-3. With the Pirates leading, 2-1, FAU scored nine runs in the bottom of the third inning. The game was ended with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning due to heavy rain. On Sunday, the Pirates mustered just five hits as the Owls used four pitchers to shut Seton Hall out, 10-0.
Â
The Pirates bounced back on Wednesday in their 2018 home opener with a 2-0 victory over Saint Peter's. Freshman Tyler Burnham tossed six scoreless innings to earn the win. Senior Matt Leon picked up the save with a flawless ninth inning.
Â
SERIES INFORMATION:
Seton Hall and Oklahoma State have only met twice in history, with the teams splitting a pair of contests in Stillwater in 2000. The Pirates and Missouri State have never met.
Â
Oklahoma State enters the weekend with a record of 8-7. They've lost three straight games, including a mid-week loss to Dallas Baptist on Tuesday. The Cowboys are just 4-4 at home this year.
Â
Missouri State enters with a 10-5 record, having won its last three games. Most recently, it defeated Iowa on Wednesday.
