PREVIEW:
For the first time ever, Seton Hall will travel to Honolulu, O'ahu this week for a four-game series against the University of Hawaii. The Pirates will play each day, Friday through Monday, and all four games will have a free live audio broadcast via the Pirate Sports Network. Please note, there is a six-hour time differential between Hawaii and New Jersey. Friday's game will start at 6:35 p.m. Hawaii Time, so that's 12:35 a.m. Eastern Time.
Â
The Pirates are coming off a 1-1-1 showing in Stillwater, Oklahoma last weekend. The Pirates defeated host Oklahoma State, 10-7, on Friday. Senior Shane McCarthy didn't allow an earned run over seven innings, while Christian Del Castillo clubbed his first career home run. On Saturday, The Hall lost to Missouri State, 14-2. The Pirates bounced back on Sunday however, rallying late to tie Oklahoma State, 3-3. Lightning and the Pirates' travel curfew halted the game in the bottom of the eighth inning. Connor Hood hit his first career home run in that game.
Â
For his efforts, Del Castillo was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Â
Seton Hall's game vs. Lafayette originally scheduled for Wednesday was snowed-out.
Â
SERIES INFORMATION:
Seton Hall and Hawaii have never met. This will be the furthest away from South Orange, N.J. that Seton Hall has ever played a game.
Â
Hawaii enters the weekend with a 12-6 record and an impressive RPI of 47. The Rainbow Warriors have won four straight games after a four-game sweep of Illinois State in Honolulu last week. Fifteen of Hawaii's 18 games so far this season have been at home. They dropped two of their three road games at LSU, March 9-11.
Â
Hawaii catcher Chayce Ka'aua was named Big West Field Player of the Week after hitting .462 in the four-game sweep of Illinois State with six RBIs.
Â
Hawaii was picked to finish seventh in the nine-team Big West this season.

THINGS TO KNOW:
RECENT NEWS

Â
LAST SERIES
Seton Hall went 1-1-1 in three games in Stillwater, Oklahoma last weekend. The Pirates defeated host Oklahoma State on Friday, 10-7. They fell to Missouri State in a neutral site game on Saturday, 14-2, and tied Oklahoma State on Sunday, 3-3. That game was halted due to lightning and The Hall's travel curfew.
Â
MID-WEEK MATCHUP
Seton Hall's originally scheduled game vs. Lafayette at Owen T. Carroll Field on Wednesday, was snowed-out.
Â
HITTER TO WATCH
Senior Ryan Ramiz has caught fire lately after a slow start to the season. After batting just .121 in the season's first 10 games, the outfielder has clubbed a team-best .417 in the seven games since. Ramiz's walk rate has gone up significantly too. He currently leads the Pirates and is tied for second in the BIG EAST with 12 walks.
Â
PITCHER TO WATCH
Billy Layne, Jr. made his first start of the season on Sunday against Oklahoma State and allowed only one run over four innings, scattering just two hits. The right-hander has allowed only one run over his last four appearances. Layne, Jr. has struck out nine batters and walked only three this season.
Â
MILESTONE TRACKER
Seton Hall head coach Rob Sheppard needs just six wins to reach 400 for his career. Senior Ryan Ramiz needs three hits to reach 150 for his career. Senior Shane McCarthy needs just one more inning pitched to move in to Seton Hall's career top-10. Matt Leon recently made his 72nd career appearance, which ties John Probst for ninth-most in Seton Hall history. Furthermore, with one more save, he will tie five former Pirates for eighth-most in his career.
Â
LEAGUE LEADERS
Senior Matt Leon is tied for the BIG EAST lead with three saves, while freshman Casey Dana is tied for the lead with three triples. Shane McCarthy is tied with teammate Tyler Burnham for the conference lead in pickoffs.
