Hack stays hot with his third double of the season
MIAMI — Junior Devin Hack (Somerville, N.J.) went 1-for-4 with his third double of the season and freshman Michael Callan Moss (Brooklyn, N.Y.) tallied his first career RBI in the Seton Hall baseball team's 9-1 defeat to Florida International on Sunday afternoon.
Redshirt sophomore Will Gale (Scotch Plains, N.J.) went 1-for-3 with a run scored and and senior Nick Payero (Monroe, N.J.) had four strikeouts in 2.2 innings of relief.
Seton Hall saw the lead-off man reach second base in Hack in the top of the first but he was left stranded. FIU took advantage of the missed opportunity by scoring the games first run in the home half of the first.
Four more runs came across in the bottom of the fourth and another run in the bottom of the fifth made it 6-0 Panthers. Seton Hall got on the board in the top half of the sixth where Gale singled to first base to lead off, stole second, stole third, and came home on a fielder's choice. It wouldn't be enough though as FIU tacked on a run in the seventh and two runs in the eighth that put the game out of reach,

- Redshirt junior Joe Cinema (Mahwah, N.J.) made his first appearance of the season and he fanned two batters in 1.1 innings of relief.
- Sophomore Zane Probst (Mill Hall, Pa.) came on in the eighth and retired the lone batter he faced.
