MELBOURNE, FLA. – Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) and Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) each shot a 2-over-par, 74, to power the Seton Hall women's golf team in round one of the Columbia Classic at Duran Golf Club on Saturday.

Sarrias Pro was even par over the final 13 holes of her round. She had a team-best 14 pars on Saturday. Ekman had a team-best three birdies to fuel her round. After 18 holes, both golfers are tied for 19th place among 90 individual golfers.

As a team, Seton Hall is in 11th place after a 15-over-par, 303, in round one. They currently trail the team leaders, Old Dominion, by 14 strokes entering Tuesday's second round. The Hall's lone BIG EAST competition, St. John's, is currently in 14th place, four strokes behind the Pirates.

Freshman Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) had two birdies in route to a 5-over-par, 77, in round one. She's currently tied for 40th place overall.

Ginevra Zavagli (Rome, Italy) is only one stroke behind Rane following a 6-over-par, 78.Â

Sophomore Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) finished with a 14-over-par, 86.

Making her collegiate debut, freshman Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) competed as an individual and shot a 16-over-par, 86, in round one.

The winds from the Atlantic Ocean may join you on your round at any time, and can add up to three clubs on approach shots. The sparkling lakes that boarder the sweeping doglegs will catch wayward shots from golfers that try to bite off more than they can chew.

THE FIELD:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Columbia, the large field is comprised of 16 other teams including: Albany, Cal State Fullerton, Dartmouth, Eastern Kentucky, Emory, James Madison, Kennesaw State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Princeton, Richmond, Yale and Youngstown State. BIG EAST opponent St. John's is also in the field.

THE FORMAT:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

THE SCHEDULE:
The field will play 18 holes of golf per day for three days. Round one and two, on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, will start with tee times off holes No. 1 and No. 10 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Monday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
