Phalen Leads Women's Soccer Past Rider, 2-0

Seton Hall improves to 8-9-1. The Pirates will play at either Boston College or Connecticut in the opening round of the BIG EAST Tournament. Rider wraps up its season at 4-14-1.
After intercepting a Rider pass, Phalen broke into the penalty area and scored on a shot from 16 yards over the head of goalkeeper Erin Wolleann at the 8:13 mark.
Less than two minutes later (9:44), Phalen scored from close range off a rebound of a shot by senior midfielder Leslie Smith (Shoreview, MN).
Sophomore goalkeeper Leah Miller (Harrison, OH) stopped three shots to earn her second consecutive shutout for Seton Hall. Erin Wollean (Bay Head, NJ) made nine saves for Rider, which was outshot 17-6.
