
Women's Soccer Falls to Connecticut in Overtime, 2-1

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. Karyn Riviere of Connecticut scored a goal in the eighth minute of the first overtime to defeat Seton Hall, 2-1, Sunday afternoon in Connecticut.
Riviere scored when she received a pass from Erin Clark in the middle of the box in the 98th minute of the game. Meghan Schnur received the second assist on the game winner.
The teams entered the second half in a scoreless tie, however Madelene Kill (Marietta, Ga) tallied her second goal of the weekend in the 63rd minute on a breakaway pass from Katherine De Tata (Brick, N.J.). It was Kill’s second goal of the season, and De Tata’s second assist.
Clark tied the game with an unassisted goal in the 76th minute when she took the ball into the goaltender’s box to beat Amanda Becker (Aston, Pa).
Becker ended the game making seven saves on nine shots of goal. Connecticut finished with 25 shots towards the net. Huskie’s goalkeeper Stephanie Labbe made two saves while Seton Hall attempted seven.
The Pirates had 14 fouls to Connecticut’s 12, while Connecticut led the game in corner kicks 5-0.
The Pirates will travel to Cincinnati on Friday, October 12. Kick-off is set for 7:00 pm.
