
Women's Soccer Inks Six to National Letters of Intent

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. Seton Hall head women’s soccer coach Kazbek Tambi announced the signing of six high school seniors to National Letters of Intent. Elizabeth Bond, Shannon Desmond, Nicky Gross, Madelene Kill, Keri O’Donnell and Kassandra Palmer will be joining the Pirate women’s soccer squad for the 2007 season.
Bond is a senior goalkeeper at Abington High School. She has been the starting goalkeeper since her freshman year and played for the Pennsylvania ODP Under-16 team. A team captain, she was named Third Team All-Suburban League her junior year and received honorable mention her freshman and sophomore years. She played for the indoor club team FC Coppa, where she helped her squad win the indoor state cup in 2006.
Desmond, a senior at Seton Catholic High School, is a strong midfielder. She has been a member of the varsity squad since her freshman year and helped her squad win the 3A State Championship for her freshman, sophomore and junior years. A team captain, she was named Arizona Republic First Team All-State and East Valley Tribune First Team for her junior and senior years. In addition to her high school team, Desmond has played on her club team: on Southbank Soccer Club, 89 Ladybugs White, since 2001.
Gross has played for the World Class U-18 team for four years. She helped the World Class U-18 win the Region 1 and State Championship in 2004, and win the State title in 2005. She was a member of the three-time Jefferson Cup Championship team. In addition to soccer, Gross was a member of the cross country team and led them to State and County Championships.
Kill, a forward for Marist High School, has been a four-year varsity player. She was named the 2004 Metro North Offensive Player of the Year and helped her team to the State Championships for three years, winning the States in 2004, a semifinalist in 2005 and 2006. A team captain, she was named AJC All-Region Honorable Mention in 2005 and was on the Georgia ODP State Team in 2005-06.
O’Donnell is a midfielder at Central Bucks South. A team captain, she was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and was named First Team All-League and was named to the All-Southeastern Pennsylvania team. In club soccer, she has played for the Spirit United Gaels, which is ranked second in the nation, and helped the team to the 2006 National Championship Finals after winning the Region 1 championship, and the EPA U17 State Championship.
Palmer is a senior at Warren Hills Regional High School. A varsity starter for three years and leading point scorer, she has received numerous accolades. She was named First Team All-West Jersey, First Team All-Skyland Conference and All-Area for three seasons in a row. She has played on the Parsippany Gazelles since 2004 and has helped them to the Super Y League North American National Championship in 2005 and runner up in 2006, and to the State Cup Finals in 2005 and 2006.
