Alli Donofrio Named Big East Offensive Player of the Week

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. Women’s soccer senior forward Alli Donofrio (Wayne, N.J.) was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals, including a game winner against BIG EAST rival Rutgers.
On Friday, Donofrio followed a shot off the post to rebound the ball into the net past Scarlet Knights’ goalkeeper Erin Guthrie in the 58th minute of the game. The unassisted goal was her second of the season, ending Seton Hall’s scoring drought of 368 minutes dating back to September 5, and was the only goal of the game as Seton Hall defeated Rutgers 1-0.
On Sunday, Donofrio tallied her third goal of the season in the 47 minute mark when her shot beat Marist goalkeeper Caitlin Nazarechuck low to the right side. That goal gave Seton Hall a 3-0 lead in a game they would go on to win 4-1.
The Pirates take their 5-2-1 record and 1-0 BIG EAST record on the road to face Georgetown Friday afternoon. Kick-off for the BIG EAST match is scheduled for noon.
