SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. The women’s soccer team fell to BIG EAST rival Georgetown 1-0 Friday afternoon at North Kehoe Field.
The two teams battled through a scoreless tie until the 72 second minute when Sarah Fetters scored her third goal of the season off assists from Stephanie Zare and Toni Marie Hudson. Hudson carried the ball up the right side of the field before passing to Zare who fed the ball across to Fetters for the goal. It was Zare’s third assist of the season and the first for Hudson.
Alli Donofrio (Wayne, N.J.) led the Pirates with two shots including one on net, however the Pirates lost in the shot total 9-4. Amanda Becker (Aston, Pa) finished the game six saves while her counterpart Jackie Desjardin finished with two for her fifth shutout of the season.
Georgetown also finished ahead in fouls 6-5 and corner kicks 12-1.
Seton Hall will continue their BIG EAST schedule when they return home to Owen T. Carroll Field for a match-up against Villanova on Sunday. Kick-off is set for 1:00 pm.
