Amanda Becker Named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week

Seton Hall women’s soccer senior goalkeeper Amanda Becker was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after posting two shutouts in the Villanova Tournament to begin the 2007 season. The award is Becker’s third in her career after receiving it in the first week of the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
On Friday Becker saved all nine shots she faced against Virginia Commonwealth leading the Pirates to a 4-0 victory in the season opener. On Sunday the Pirates received more of the same from Becker as she tallied three saves to defeat Lafayette 1-0.
The Pirates, who begin the season 2-0 for the first time since 2000, return home to Owen T. Carroll Field Wednesday evening against Fairfield. Kick-off is set for 5:00 pm.
