Women's Soccer Announces 2009 Schedule

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. The Seton Hall women’s soccer program has set its 2009 regular season schedule for the upcoming fall. The Pirates 15th season will kick off on Friday, August 28 at Maryland, and return home three days later for the regular season opener at Owen T. Carroll Field against Fairfield.
On Friday, September 11, the Hall will travel to Charlottesvill, Va. to participate in the weekend-long Virginia Nike Soccer Classic . After opening against Dartmouth, the Pirates will play host school Virginia on Sunday.
Seton Hall begins the 2009 conference schedule when they travel to Piscataway, N.J. to face in-state rival Rutgers on Friday, September 18. In addition to the Scarlet Knights, the Pirates conference road games include Villanova, USF, Marquette, Louisville, and St. John’s.
Head coach Kazbek Tambi, who is entering his third season, will lead his team through a home conference schedule that includes, Georgetown, DePaul, 2008 BIG EAST Tournament Champions and NCAA Finals runner-up Notre Dame, St. John’s, and Syracuse. Other non-conference match-ups include Monmouth, Fordham, and Iona.
