
Women's Soccer Rolls Past Fordham, 4-1

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Junior Nicki Gross (Emerson, N.J.) notched a pair of goals to lead the Seton Hall women's soccer team past Fordham on Sunday, 4-1. The Pirates (3-1-0) have won three straight games.
The Hall jumped ahead early, taking a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute when sophomore Wiebke Balcke (Potsdam, Germany) headed home a pass from sophomore Danielle Schulmann (Saddle River, N.J.) into the right side of the net.
Just over five minutes later, Balcke dribbled down the center of the field before feeding Gross on the right side for a 10 yard shot past Fordham keeper Rachel Suther that made it 2-0.
In the 31st minute, sophomore Caitlyn Milazzo (Barrington, R.I.) sent a pass to the middle and senior Kaitlyn Rogers (Parker, Colo.) converted a high shot into the left corner to make it a three-goal game.
Gross struck again in the 64th minute, blasting a one-timer past Jen Byer for the final Pirates' goal.
Megan Cookson tallied a late score for the Rams (0-4-1).
The Pirates finished with a 15-9 edge in shots. Gross totaled a game-high five attempts, while Kelsey Walker paced Fordham with two.
Freshman Jennifer Pettigrew (Kearny, N.J.) made three saves in the first half to pick up the win.
