
Women's Soccer Set To Host Rival Rutgers Friday Evening

SETON HALL STATUS
The Pirates return home following a sweep of the Colgate Nike Invitational by defeating Colgate and Cornell. Led by last week's BIG EAST Rookie of the Week Kaitlyn Ritter and her team-high four goals and eight points, Seton Hall enters the start of conference play 3-3. They are currently 0-1 at home after losing to number-eight Maryland, 3-2. This weekend, they will welcome another ranked team to Owen T. Carroll Field when they face in-state rival Rutgers.
RUTGERS STATUS
Rutgers travels to South Orange as the number twenty-four team in the country with a record of 5-2. They are currently 2-1 away from Piscataway including their previous match on Sunday, September 12 when they defeated Washington, 1-0, on neutral soil. Their only loss came at the hands of #4 Portland during a tournament on the west coast.

SETON HALL VS. RUTGERS
The two rivals have met 16 times in their program's history with Pirates winning six of the matches. The Pirates last one in 2007 when they tripped up the Scarlet Knights, 1-0, in Piscataway, N.J. Tambi enters this weekend 1-2 against Rutgers including last year's heart-breaking, 2-1, defeat late in the first overtime to open the 2009 BIG EAST schedule.
TAMBI VS. RANKED OPPONENTS
Since taking over as head coach in 2007, Kazbek Tambi has posted a 1-8-1 record against Nationally Ranked opponents. His lone win came at #14 Rutgers on September 21, 2007. This season against #8 Maryland at Owen T. Carroll Field, the Pirates scored two goals for the first time against a ranked opponent since September 24, 1999 when they lost 4-2 to #6 Notre Dame.
ANDRESKI RETURNS
After sitting out all of the 2009 season and the first two matches of the 2010 campaign, co-captain Katie Andreski has netted two goals and four points in four games this season.
TEAM FRESHMEN
Freshman Kaitlyn Ritter leads all Pirates with four goals and eight points this season, however classmate Amy Ruhe is close behind with seven points, including two goals. Ashley Clarke has also tallied two goals for the Hall while Meghan Hayes and Marie Klemme have each contributed with an assist.
ANDRESKI RECORD WATCH
Senior co-captain Katie Andreski currently stands in ninth place all-time with 25 points and 11 goals. She is one goal behind teammate Nicki Gross for eighth place.
GROSS ALL-TIME CAREER RECORD WATCH
Nicki Gross enters this weekend in third place with 11 assists and 136 shots, fifth place with 35 points, and eighth place with 12 goals.
GOALKEEPER ALL-TIME CAREER RECORD WATCH
For the first time during his coaching tenure, Kazbek Tambi has two experienced goalkeepers to turn to throughout the season. Junior Liz Bond enters this weekend in third place with a 1.33 Goals Against Average, fourth place in shutouts with 4.5, and fifth with 83 saves and 1,895 minutes played. Sophomore Jennifer Pettigrew stands in sixth place all-time with 79 saves and 1,707 minutes played.
NEXT MATCH
The Pirates will play three matches next week beginning with two at home against Binghamton Monday night and Villanova Friday night. They will then travel to Georgetown to face the Nationally Ranks Hoyas on Sunday. Monday and Friday's matches are set to begin at 7:00 p.m. with both being played at Owen T. Carroll Field. Sunday's match will begin at 1:00 p.m.
