
Elizabeth Bond Named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Seton Hall senior Elizabeth Bond (Glenside, Pa.) was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.
Bond earned the prestigious distinction after amassing 15 saves in a 1-0-1 week for the Pirates. The senior made four saves in a 2-1 double-overtime win against Princeton on Sept. 9. It was just the second victory for the Pirates against Princeton all-time. Bond made 11 saves in a 0-0 draw at Iona on Sept. 11. The Pirates record at 4-1-2 is their best start to a season since 2005.
Also earning weekly honors, Marquette's Maegan Kelly named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. Cincinnati's Mackenzie Grause was named Rookie of the Week and West Virginia's Meghan Lewis earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Members of the Honor Roll include: Jessica Dulski of Connecticut, Sarah Gorden of DePaul, Mary Kroening of Georgetown, Kerry McBride of Marquette and Emmy Simpkins of Rutgers.
Bond and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Friday as they open up the BIG EAST portion of their schedule with Georgetown at Owen T. Carroll Field. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
