Unbeaten Streak Propels Pirates Back Into Regional Rankings

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall women's soccer team has landed back in the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA) Northeast Region Rankings, coming in this time in the number five spot. The Hall is riding a five game unbeaten streak that includes two wins to start BIG EAST play.
After receiving votes for the previous two weeks, the Pirates are making their second appearance in the rankings this season. A ninth place ranking in the region earlier this year ended a 13 year drought for the Pirates in the polls.
Seton hall topped Georgetown 3-2 in their conference opener before taking the points in a 1-0 win at Villanova this past week. Senior midfielder Taylor Wilson (Rahway, N.J.) provided the decisive tally in both contests.
It is the second straight year the team has won their first two BIG EAST matches. The victories have earned the Pirates first place in the BIG EAST National Division heading into this week's competition.
SHU takes to the road for two contests this week as the Pirates will clash with West Virginia on Friday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Seton Hall women's soccer action returns to Owen T. Carroll Field next week when the Pirates battle Syracuse on Friday, Sept. 30. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
