
Elizabeth Bond Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Seton Hall senior Elizabeth Bond (Glenside, Pa.) was named to BIG EAST Conference Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
This is the third straight week that Bond has been recognized by the BIG EAST, the last two weeks she was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week.
Bond guided the Pirates to 1-1 week, including a 4-0 loss at #23 West Virginia on Friday and a 3-0 victory at Pittsburgh on Sunday. Despite giving up four goals, the senior played a strong game in goal at West Virginia making 10 saves. At Pittsburgh, Bond made three saves and preserved her third shutout of the season and seventh of her impressive career. She has been instrumental in leading the Pirates to a 7-2-2 overall record, the team's best start since the 1997 season.
Also earning weekly honors, Georgetown's Camille Trujillo was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, Marquette's Haley Fritzen was named Rookie of the Week, while a pair of West Virginia players, Bry McCarthy and Sara Keane earned Defensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week respectively. Those joining Bond on the Weekly Honor Roll include: Laura DiClemente of Providence, Christine Exeter of Louisville, and Maegan Kelly and Natalie Kulla of Marquette.
Bond and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Friday when they return to Owen T. Caroll Field for a BIG EAST showdown with Syracuse. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
